USE THE GUIDE BOOKLET AND TAKE A SELF-GUIDED TOUR
For those who enjoy visiting historic sites at their own leisure, the self-guided tour is perfect for you.
You’ll be given an interactive guide booklet to follow during your visit. With this booklet you’ll be able to activate the audio terminals and touch screen tablets that can be found throughout the Fortress.
You can also take a seat in the park and learn about the stonemasons, or walk down to the Coudray tower to listen to Jacques de Molay, the last Grand Master of the Templars.
This guide is in addition to the interactive displays in the Royal Lodgings where you will find: film projections about the four key periods of the site and four important figures; models to understand the development of the Fortress through history; and cases displaying archaeological collections and objects related to Joan of Arc.
Recommended duration: 1 h 30 m
